Crab Orchard Photo Group Exhibition At Cedarhurst Center for the Arts Exhibition
Description: “A Walk in the Woods: Photographs from the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge”
What do you see when you take a walk in the woods? Celebrate each of the four seasons as captured by members of the Crab Orchard Photography Group. Images will explore seasonal offerings at Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge including such things as wildflowers, landscapes, weather, butterflies, birds, deer and other wonders of nature.
Entry Guidelines:
(A) Entrants must be a member of the Facebook Group, Friends of CONWR and Photography.
(B) Entries may ONLY be submitted by the original photographer.
(C) Entries should not show any identifiable individuals.
(D) Photographers may enter up to 5 photos for consideration. Any entries that exceed that number will automatically be eliminated.
(E) Photos must have been taken at Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge after January 1, 2019 and should comply with the theme, “A Walk in the Woods: Photographs from the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge.” Entries may depict one season or may be a mix of different seasons.
(F) Entries must be submitted digitally to: photography@friendsofconwr.com and must be sized to 11”X14” and submitted as “thumbnails” with a maximum size of 1mb per image.
(G) The photographer’s name should NOT appear on the image. If an image is selected for the gallery show the final print may have the artist’s signature.(H) Photos may NOT be grouped together—a separate email must be made for each entry.
(I) In the text of each email submission, include the (1) photographer’s name, (2) address, (3) phone number, (4) email address, (5) the title of the photograph, (6) the date (or month/year) the photo was taken, and (7) the approximate location on the Refuge where the photo was taken.
(J) Entries must be submitted by 5pm on August 20th .
(K) Photographers whose entries have been selected for the gallery show will be notified by September 7th or 8th .
Photo Preparation Guidelines:
(A) The curator will select 7 images for each of the 4 seasons. The quality of the photographic image as well as the uniqueness and interest will be of paramount importance.
(B) Photographers who have had one or more pictures selected for the gallery show must have their image(s) printed at 11”X14” and matted with a WHITE matte to a size of 16”X20”. Cedarhurst will be responsible for framing the matted prints.
(C) The final matted print may be signed by the photographer if he/she desires to do so. Cedarhurst will provide tags for each image with the name of the photographer and the title of the image.
(D) The matted prints must be delivered to the Refuge Headquarters by 4pm on October 1st, 2021.
